HOW WE THINK
Beautiful and Intelligent Design
Designing great websites requires more than saying some magic words. It requires becoming someone new with the client’s users. Great websites flow from who we are and are fueled by new ways of thinking, seeing, and living. As we became one with the user, we need to navigate into new points of view so we can find beauty from a different angle, and simultaneously we have to let go of the things that are conventional. Picasso said it best: “The chief enemy of creativity is common sense.”
Our motto is: “If you can imagine it, then we can design it.” Our team strives to give you well thought and functional experience that your users will love!
Our Process
Pre-production
· Paper covers rock! – The first step is to draw up a blueprint. For a website we use Information Architecture (or IA). IA is the process by which you break your website’s content into chunks and then organize those chunks hierarchically in relation to one another in a way that’s logical.
Most of the time, each chunk of information is content (text, images, etc.) that lives on a single page. IA is also closely linked with building navigation. So, if you’ve got a bad IA, chances are, you’ll have a bad navigation system as well. If your site doesn’t have a solid IA, it will feel disorganized and confusing to users. And that will make users go somewhere else to get what they’re looking for.
Design
· Layout and design – From browsers to screen real estate, it’s all about giving your users what they really want. Design is about audience and with the use of personas as our guides we can create a great user experience!
· Designing with color – A good color palette can draw your audience into your site, give them a powerful feeling of immersion, and keep them coming back for more. And since color has an emotional impact, it’s important to know how to apply the colors we choose, if we don’t use them thoughtfully, people might avoid your site like the plague.
Production
· Writing for the web – Writing for the web is completely different than writing for print. People don’t read text on the web like they read text on a printed page. Instead of reading text from left to right, they scan it. The text on your site needs to be quickly scannable and easily digestible by the user. If not, user won’t waste their time in your site, and they’ll go somewhere else.
· · Accessibility – Who’s missing out on experiencing your website, right now? You may have a beautiful, well-laid out, easily navigable site, but that doesn’t mean everyone’s enjoying it. Whether it’s someone who’s visually-impaired, or just a user who has trouble distinguishing blues from greens, your site must be accessible. Otherwise, you’re losing users and hurting your business.
Creativity is vibrant, vital, and ever changing, It’s contagious and unquantifiable. We believe that as nature, beautifully created and design, our approach to beautiful, intelligent design needs to be planned and imaginative on paper first, then executed for the benefit of all.
